Family friendly winter walk around Bad Peterstal with start/end at Bad Peterstal train station.

This is a quite easy hike due to the slight ascends and decends.

A short winter hike around Bad Peterstal for the whole family with kids from the age of 4 onwards (attention this trail is not meant for strollers). The short circular trail is perfect for a walk in the morning. From here you will have an amazing view on Bad Peterstal during winter and will see it from all angles. Many outlooks and benches invite you to rest and stay for a while, always looking in the direction of the steeple of Bad Peterstal.

Mosscovered slopes and tiny rivers cover our way. As we walk past ivied trees we can have a beautiful view in the direction of Bad Peterstal

During summer there will be a drinking hall as well as  a water treatment facility for your refreshment.

A delicious piece of cake from Café Räpple combined with a hot drink is the right way to finish this winter hike.

Bad Peterstal train station

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting at the train station, we walk up the bridge crossing the railroad tracks. In the first curve we turn right onto the gravel footpath leading into the forest. We follow this path straight ahead, walking alongside the Railroad tracks. Passing the Altanenhäusle, we keep walking straight until the road makes a turn to the right and goes slightly downhill.  At the next intersection we turn right towards the Urbanshof. We cross the road at the gas station and turn right towards the mineral water fountain “Sophienquelle”.

We cross the bride just in front of the fountain and walk across the parking lot and walk uphill towards the water treading spot called “In der Höll”. The footpath will turn into a paved road after about 100 m. We follow this road and keep left after passing the graveyard until we get down onto the L96. We cross that road and turn left, heading towards the “Kulturhaus” and walk down into the little park. Here we keep right and follow the road called “Kurhausweg” back onto the main road. Turning left, we head back to the train station where we started our walk.
