The fairytale treasure hunt starts at the parking area Weiherplatz in Bad Griesbach. Equipped with the fairy tale flyer (available at the Bad Peterstal Tourist Information Office or online as a download), the path leads through the fairytale valley of the Wild Rench. Eight well-known fairy tales are hidden over about 1 kilometer. The numbers on the labels must be collected. In the end, these result is the code for the combination lock on the mysterious fairytale treasure chest in the Bad Peterstal Tourist Information Office. Successful treasure hunters can pick up their treasure here.

Author’s recommendation

In the Höhengasthaus Herbstwasen, treasure hunters can look forward to a special kind of fairy tale menu. You can also have a great picnic at the Weiherplatz!

Turn-by-turn directions

You can start the fairytale treasure hunt at the “Weiherplatz” hiking car park in Bad Griesbach. Here you go down a few meters at the information board on the right. At the bottom you cross the small bridge and then turn left onto the forest path. Now you follow the brook for a while until the path on the left crosses the brook again.

Now it goes a little uphill until you come to the gravel driveway on which you drove to the Weiherplatz. You cross the street and go straight up a narrow forest path again. You walk through the small forest until you reach the parking lot of the Höhengasthaus Herbstwasen at the end. This is where the fairytale treasure hunt ends.

Way back: You can go back the same way or you follow the gravel road after the narrow forest path back to Weiherplatz.
