The excursions along the Moselle promise attractive excursions: the Moselsteig Trail partner trails are designed as circular hiking trails and enable hikers to discover many other facets of the Moselle region.

Author’s recommendation

Den kurzen Abstecher zur Unteren Starkenburger Mühle einplanen. Hier sitzt es sich herrlich und man kann sich vor dem Aufstieg noch einmal stärken.

Turn-by-turn directions

The starting and finishing point of the affair "Leiermannpfad" are the romantic wine and holiday resorts of Enkirch and Starkenburg. From Enkirch the path leads via the footpath to the Catholic monastery church "Klause". It goes leisurely above the Ahringsbach valley to the confluence of the Bachweg. From here you can reach the Obere Starkenburger Gesellschaftmühle from 1798 after approx. 200 meters. An information board and comfortable seating invite you to rest and linger. The path then leads back to the Bachweg and from there uphill to Starkenburg. In the village it goes past two old village bakeries before you reach the viewing pavilion. Here you can take a break with a fantastic view of the Moselle valley and far into the Eifel. It continues through the village and over the Kirster Höhe. Enjoy the constantly changing panoramas with a view of the Moselle valley, the Mont Royal and the vineyards of Enkircher Zeppwingert and Enkircher Herrenberg, as well as the anchorage for wine connoisseurs Enkirch. The Leiermannspfad leads back to the starting point in the village via narrow footpaths and romantic paths. In Starkenburg you can reach the "Leiermannspfad" at the confluence of the Bachweg and Schlossstraße and from there either via the viewing pavilion and the Kirster Höhe or directly above follow the Bachweg towards Ahringsbachtal to Enkirch and back to the starting point.
