Der Qualitätswanderweg Maisacher Turmsteig bietet viel Abwechslung, ist jedoch durch seine über 700Hm nicht zu unterschätzen. Gestartet sind wir am Parkplatz Zuflucht und hatten somit das Highlight, den Buchkopfturm, direkt zu Beginn. Von hier aus führt der Weg zu erst über breite Forstwege und kurze Pfadabschnitte bis zur Renchtalhütte. Von hier aus führt der Weg immer weiter ins Tal, bis man schließlich am niedrigsten Punkt der Tour in Maisach ankommt. Anschließend wartet der anspruchsvollste Teil der Tour auf den Wanderer. Steil bergauf geht es auf den Maisacher Grat welcher immer wieder tolle Ausblicke bereithält. Weiter geht es ein paar Meter über breite Forstwege bis der letzte Anstieg beginnt. Schmale Pfade führen bis fast komplett rauf zum Buchkopfturm. Tolle Wanderung auch im Winter.
