The anual ski jumping competition to win the famous Georg-Thoma-Cup takes place on the Kreuzkopfschanze in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach.
The Kreuzkopfschanze was built in 1954. 1966 the slope was covered in mats and initiated by an excursion of the ski jumpers of the DSV (german ski association) national team. 1969 the ski jump K 28 was built. 1983/84 both jumps were renovated.
