The Museum bei der Kaiserpfalz is a small but fine museum of urban history and a place of preservation, wonder and learning. A virtual 360° tour invites you to explore the exhibition rooms. This offers the possibility to visit the museum at any time and also from a distance.

An attractive and extensive programme of events invites visitors to exhibitions, festivals, lectures, guided tours and workshops on historical topics all year round. The museum presents itself literarily, musically and sometimes even culinary. With a wide variety of events - from "children leading children" for families to the classic museum tour for individual visitors or groups - every visitor is sure to find the format that suits them.

How to get there:

By train: from Ingelheim railway station by bus lines 611 and 620 (bus stop François-Lachenal-Platz) or on foot for about 20 minutes along Binger and Mainzer Straße to François-Lachenal-Platz.

By car: BAB 60, exit Ingelheim-Ost, then in the direction of Ingelheim, after entering the town after approx. 400 m turn left into Sternbornstraße, then straight on to François-Lachenal-Platz (or follow the brown signs "Kaiserpfalz").

  • There are 2 marked parking spaces for people with disabilities at the public car park (350 cm x 500 m). The distance to the entrance area is 100 m.
  • The main entrance is accessible without steps or thresholds.
  • The counter with cash desk is 89 cm high at the lowest point and 110 cm high at the highest point, an equivalent communication option is available while in a sitting position.
  • All public doors and passageways are at least 90 cm wide. There are no revolving or rotating doors.
  • The exhibition rooms are steplessly accessible.
  • The exhibits and the correspondent information can be viewed and read in a sitting position (exception: exhibition room 3).
  • Aids offered: Walking aids with seating function
  • Guided tours for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users are offered. Seating is available during the guided tour. The entire route is steplessly accessible for wheelchair users. A reservation is desired.

Toilet for people with disabilities

  • The manoeuvering spaces are 150 cm x 150 cm in front of the toilet and 120 cm x 120 cm in front of the washbasin.
  • The toilet can be accessed from the left (at least 90 cm x 70 cm).
  • Handles which can be foled up are provided on both sides.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair compatible, the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
