Museums in Alzey-Worms

The tourist information centre is the central contact point for guests in Flonheim and is located directly on the historic market square.

Today's museum of Alzey was built in the 16th century as a hospital building. The stair tower in  the front and the windows are recognisable from this time of building. After the destruction in 1689 as a consequence of the war of palatinate succession the hospital was rebuilt in 1747/48 in a baroque style with a spacious mansard roof.

The main focus of the local history museum's collection is the Offstein clay works and its tiles. In addition, the museum collects and displays as a permanent exhibition documents, media and objects that illustrate village life 30 and more years ago and objects with particular relevance to contemporary and media history. The association's archive collects and preserves documents and media on association life in the community, on the family history of former citizens, on local and regional politics in the community and on the general political environment or background.
