The Romans knew where it was beautiful: in the middle of the sea of vines above the Ungstein district of Bad Dürkheim, a Roman villa with a pedal wine press was uncovered in 1981 as parts of the largest Roman manor complex in the Palatinate and partially restored. In fine weather, the view extends as far as the Black Forest. The Roman circular hiking trail passes by here.

Sehr schöne und einmalige Fliehburg. Leider gibt es Schäden durch Besucher. Steine werden versetzt, Grubenhäuser mit Totholz abgedeckt, Feuerstellen errichtet und Steintürmchen gebaut. Die Eingriffe sind massiv. Besucher müssen mehr sensibilisiert werden hier nichts zu verändern oder zu zerstören. Wahrscheinlich wird die Anlage sogar von Mountain Bikes befahren. Es gibt erste Anzeichen dafür. Darum mehr Aufklärung bitte. Die Touristik ist hier gefragt. Denkmalpflege kann den Schutz nicht alleine bewerkstelligen.

Hohenhainer Tunnel by Der Longboard

Gerade im Hochsommer ist der Tunnel wunderbar zum Longboarden. Auch die Strecke nach Freudenberg macht auf dem Longboard richtig Spaß. Von mir nicht nur für Boarderinnen und Boarder eine absolute Empfehlung.
