In this great café you can stop off perfectly after the hike of our dream loop "Hunolsteiner Klammtour" or you can just spend some nice hours on the farm. On the menu you will find great dishes, which are prepared in the three-generation business mainly from regional products.

The Hunolsteiner Hof

The history of the Hunolsteiner Hof

The farm belonged to Count Felix Maria Eduard von Hunolstein until 1953, when he gave it to his granddaughter Countess Henriette as a wedding present. The Counts of Hunostein emigrated to France during the Reformation because they wanted to remain Catholic. The family of the reeves of Hunolstein was first mentioned in the 12th century. Today the castle is only preserved as a ruin. However, it is well worth seeing, with a great view over the Dhron valley. The ruins of Hunolstein can be reached on foot from Hof in about 15 minutes. There has always been a Hunolstein farm to the castle, only the buildings changed their location quickly. The present building was built in 1848 by the Counts of Hunolstein from France in the style of the Trier farmhouse. Since 1930 our family has been running the Hunolsteiner Hof.

Our garden and farm

On our orchards around the farm we harvest apples, pears, quinces, mirabelle plums, plums, cherries and elderberries. Everything we harvest is also processed in our farm kitchen. You can visit the Countess Henriette farmer's garden directly on the farm. On about 30 hectares of grassland around the Hunolsteiner Hof, 15 Jersey cows are kept in Ammenkuhhaltung. During a walk on the Hunolsteiner Klammtour you can watch our cows grazing. On the farm you are welcome to take a look inside the stables. There you will certainly meet one of our cats, who make sure that the mice in the café do not dance on the tables.

Spend some nice hours with your dog in our farm café in Morbach-Hunolstein Description of the dog services: - allowed number of dogs: 1 -Dogs are allowed in the restaurant.
